VACUUM EXCAVATION SYSTEMS

[Directional Boring and the Vac-N-Dig/System 3] [System 3 Specifications] [System 3 Benefits]

The VAC-N-DIG/SYSTEM 3 offers the ultimate in power, reliability and ease of use. It is designed from the ground up with features that make an operator's job easier and faster than ever before. These features, combined with the highest quality components that won't let you down in the middle of an important job, means the SYSTEM 3 is your best bet when it comes to getting the greatest possible return on your investment dollar.

The SYSTEM 3 is a true multi-purpose vacuum system that enables operators to use it for potholing and mud slurry removal as well as for other cleaning tasks such as removing wet or dry debris from valve boxes, transformer vaults and catch basins. The SYSTEM 3's ability to do a number of jobs makes it that much easier to justify the capital expenditure required to put this machine to work in your business.

The SYSTEM 3 is normally installed on a flat bed truck body, but may also be installed on a 5th wheel trailer. Our standard configuration employs an 8'x16' flatbed, which allows plenty of room for tools and supplies. Our customers have the choice of providing the vehicle or allowing us to provide a GMC, Ford or International truck. If you elect to have us provide the truck, you will pay no more as our policy is to pass along the cost of the truck to you at our cost without mark-up.

DIRECTIONAL BORING & THE VAC-N-DIG/SYSTEM 3

Directional boring is a trenchless technology that has grown dramatically in importance and popularity as boring equipment continues to improve and as utilities and contractors become familiar with the tremendous advantages it offers compared with open trench methods.

TheVAC-N-DIG System 3 plays an important dual role in directional boring by enabling operators to POT HOLE to verify the exact location of utilities intersecting the bore path and also to REMOVE BENTONITE MUD SLURRY from the boring site.

BENEFITS: 1) Reduced damage claims. 2)Greater employee safety/fewer injuries/lower Workmen's Compensation costs. 3) Increased equipment utilization by having one machine do both jobs - Pot Holing and Slurry Removal. POT HOLING: VAC-N-DIG's unique design allows operators to perform single pot holes and back fill directly from the soil collection canister or to perform multiple pot holes collecting all soil in the large 3 cubic yard tank for removal, back filling with sand or other material.SLURRY REMOVAL: A simple change in vacuum hose connections allows the operator to quickly collect up to 580 gallons (1,000 gallons optional) of bentonite mud for recycling or disposal.

SYSTEM 3 BENEFITS

[Page Up]
Powerful Digging Action
The combination of high output compressor, efficient laminar flow nozzle design and strong vacuum make digging easier and faster in all soil conditions. The System 3 will dig a 5' deep by 1'x1' hole in an average time of just 7-8 minutes in all soil conditions.
Single or Multiple Pot Holes
Choose between doing single pot holes and back filling using the rear soil collection canister or doing multiple pot holes and collecting spoils in the large tank for removal. Faster, easier, increased productivity.
Single Engine Design
Unlike other systems which use as many as three separate engines, the System 3 uses a single 102 HP turbo-charged diesel engine to power all systems - vacuum, air and water. The advantage - lower maintenance and greater reliaility.
Self-Purging, Washable Filters
Reverse flow air automatically cleans the filters. Every 3-6 months when additional cleaning is necessary simply remove, clean and re-install. Less downtime means more time on the job.
Hydraulic Powered Dumping
Quick, easy emptying of large 3 cubic yard (580 gallon) tank.
Supervisory Control System
Automatic monitoring of all systems allows a two-man crew to operate the system.
Remote Operation
For areas of difficult access, operation at distances up to 500 feet away from the truck are possible.
Wet or Dry Operation
No need to worry about having to change filters if wet conditions are encountered.
Quiet Operation
High efficiency absorption chamber silencer reduces noise and enables you to be a good neighbor.
Slurry Vacuum Mode
Simply change vacuum line connections to vacuum and store up to 580 gallons of bentonite mud slurry, more if required.
Top-of-the-Line Components
Such as our John Deere diesel engine means service is always available nearby if required.
Maintenance Free Design
Monitor and maintain oil levels, follow recommended checks and adjustments and occasionally wash the polyester filter - That's it!
Selectable Air or Water Digging
Select the digging medium best suited to soil conditions, with optional high pressure water system.
